Telkom Presents ICT Infrastructure and Connectivity in Mandalika

PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk supports the development of the Mandalika National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN) in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Telkom guarantees the provision of digital connectivity, platforms and services in the Mandalika Region. Director of Network & IT Solution Telkom Herlan Wijanarko said, to ensure the readiness of TelkomGroup’s Information & Communication Technology (ICT) network infrastructure in the Mandalika International Street Circuit area, a network test activity (rehearsal test) was carried out.

“Telkom is present as a digital telco partner who is ready to support digitization in the Mandalika area, especially at the Mandalika International Street Circuit which is the venue for a series of prestigious international events such as World Superbike (WSBK) and MotoGP,” Herlan said in his statement, Friday 5th November 2021. Currently, network tests have been carried out on the backbone infrastructure, access networks and services in the form of submarine cables and IP radio. This network test is carried out to ensure that infrastructure such as backbone lines, both main and alternative routes, regional transport lines and others would work well.

There are two main roles of TelkomGroup in supporting the digitization of Mandalika, namely as a provider of ICT infrastructure and as a supporter of MSMEs (UMKM) and the ecosystem around the area. For ICT infrastructure, TelkomGroup has carried out network deployments which include backbone expansion, fiber optic deployments both at event locations and supporting ecosystems. Then the addition of Telkomsel’s Node B Combat which was carried out to meet ICT needs in the region was 7.22 gigabytes per second (Gbps).

Meanwhile, related to support for MSMEs, TelkomGroup also provides Point of Sales (PoS) for MSME providers of merchandise and food & beverage as well as supporting the management of homestays around the Mandalika area in the form of providing platforms and booking apps.
